Leslie is a former attorney focused on the business side of TDP. She handles marketing, sales, strategy, human resources, and social media. She also handles growth, collaborations and licensing opportunities. Nonetheless, she can still be found having fun pulling shots and serving doughnuts most days in the shop.
Born and raised in San Diego, CA, Madelyn Chunka had a passion for cooking and baking at an early age. With the support of her friends and family, she started her own small catering business creating customized cakes and cupcakes for special events. At 29 years old she enrolled at The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of California, San Diego with an emphasis on Baking and Pastry. After graduating in 2012, she worked as a pastry cook for The Prado in Balboa Park, San Diego, before moving to New York City in 2013. She spent three years making pastries and desserts for various restaurants under EMM group- including Catch, Abe and Arthurs, and The General. Following, she moved on to become Lead Pastry Chef at The Doughnut Project in October 2016 where she now collaborates with the owners and different restaurants around the city to create unique, innovative doughnuts for all of New York to enjoy!
